Principal in Coleman Consulting, Wayne Coleman, is a former federal employee who has almost twenty years of experience in the field of federal pay with a particular focus in the areas of premium and overtime pay, incentives, and allowances and differentials.
He has written policy and guidance materials for various federal agencies. He has designed and delivered numerous well received training sessions since 1988 for audiences that have included managers and supervisors, human resources specialists, human resource assistants, and employees.
Wayne Coleman’s experience includes resolving questions and issues related both to white collar and blue collar employees. He has assisted federal agencies covered by the standard federal pay systems, such as the General Schedule (GS) and the Federal Wage System (WG), by non-standard federal pay systems such as broad banded and pay for performance systems, and by special provisions that cover federal law enforcement officers. Wayne Coleman has represented federal agencies by presenting testimony in grievances before Arbitrators and in federal court proceedings.
He has been employed by or presented training at dozens of federal agencies. His work has been recognized by the Classification and Compensation Society, by colleagues and peers, and by those who have attended training sessions he has presented.
Wayne Coleman received the Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Colorado. In addition, he is a collector of transportation tokens, has been a streetcar driver and conductor, and enjoys traveling to far away places like Egypt and India. He is an amateur genealogist and enjoys researching his family history.
